The cape!
Clever Carol bought a couple of cheap blankets so that we could make capes for the school girls as the weather looks like being cold on the 11th June, when they will be dressing up for the school's 150th anniversary.
I heard a programme on the radio the other day that Italy is celebrating 150 years of being united-I think. Seems strange for a country which is so old. they also said that at the top of Italy the natives speak German-how funny is that? There is so much I do not know-could fill libraries.
The St Mary's Historical Society are putting on a display of wedding dresses so I will add a small collection of photographs. There are a couple of shots of the kids too.
Everyone has been asked to bring in wedding photographs too so I must sort through as I have one from the 1940's and one from the 1950's as well as the 80's.
'Till next time

Grrrr!
Can you believe it? Poor Skye wasn't at school today because of a death in the family, so I couldn't try her dress on her . However a little lass, (not so little) the teacher said was about the same size, as Skye, tried it on-but couldn't, because it was too small... I am praying that she is much bigger than Skye. I will try and get Skye tot try it on on Monday, please say a little prayer for me. I am off to enjoy the weekend:)

Skye's dress and Gazette!
Have finished Skye's dress except for the hem-we have a fitting with her tomorrow-so fingers crossed.
Gazette finished and ready for the printer. My neck and back are killing me. Tension me thinks.
Art has finished my table for the craft room so I can't wait to get in there and organise it properly.

This is the dress I will take so,me photos of Skye wearing it as long as this is permitted. All the rules at school these days could mean that I won't be able to. I just hope her Mum is there so it might be possible.
I am exhausted but have achieved a lot we even went to the dentist for a clean and polish today. Until ...

Lovely Sunday:)
The year is flying as usual -I guess I am not the only one to notice that.
Had a lovely catch up with my daughter Pam yesterday and my eldest son Greg and his wife Fran called in after attending a Greek wedding close-by. So it was like old home week but of course I didn't get anything done-just enjoyed myself.
Barbara had called over the night before to give me the new pattern for Skye's dress and so far all I have done is undone the sleeve seam as I will be adding a triangle to make this fit.
Pam is a love because she sorted out some problems I had with the Gazette programme so I will be able to complete that and get it printed early in the week.
I can't believe that Andy and Maree and Abby and Pete are back from their Pacific Jewel Cruise already.
Art and I have done some work outside this morning, wiped down all the cobwebs and was very careful, as I got a piece of cobweb in my eye years back doing this. We have staked the peas they are growing at the rate of naughts.

Greetings from the States!
I had a lovely phone call today from my cousin, Margaret in the States. So good to catch up with her. We were born 11 days apart back in Scotland then I came to Australia in 1948 and I am not sure when she went to America but I think it was back in the 50's or the maybe the 60's. We haven't seen each other since '48-if that year as I can't remember when exactly. Anyway lovely to talk with her and catch up on family news.
Still waiting for the girls to get back to me the dress...
I made a card today for a friend, who has a friend with a terminal illness. I hope I have done OK with it, as it was a bit of a challenge. I will post a photograph and feel free to let me know what you think of it.
And this is our lemon tree! Lemons at last -it has only taken us four lemon trees and 25 years to get some:)

Nearly Gazette time!
The weather is stunningly beautiful today-clear crisp and blue skies-just the day to pull weeds and prune trees, I think. I have done some of that today but have now given up-'cause that is easy to do. Giving up I mean. Sounds like a good title for a song-'cause givin' up is easy to do" or was it 'Hard to do'
I bought a Stampin'Up Embosslits die called Sweetest Stem. It is so easy to work with and I shall invest in more of these dies. So that is a big thank you to Angela, it arrived so quickly.
At Encore the genius girls-Barbara and Chris- have taken my pattern away to enlarge so that I can get on with Skye's dress. I was a very privileged sewer when I was young as I just had to buy a pattern, cut it out, sew it up and wear it. No alterations necessary. And when I sewed for other people-what can I say -I was just younger. It never dawned on me that I couldn't do it-whatever 'it' was. I would love a bit of that confidence now.
We are off to the Hawkesbury show tomorrow as i have some items in the porcelain art section, so will post photos on Monday.

Skye's dress-nearly!
Thought I would photograph the progress -or not -of Skye's dress. It is Encore on Friday so I thought I had better get the elastic into the pantaloons-later today- and also the petticoat. The dress will have to wait. I am so annoyed as I had completed the sleeves ready to be set in and now I actually have to make them again too. That will entail a visit to Spotlight for more lace:)

Monday!
Wash day again -so soon!
Well I didn't make any cards on Saturday or yesterday -but it is on the list.
I am a great believer in lists. I love the feeling you get when you cross thinks off once completed.
There was a photo in the Daily Telegraph today of the kids from St Marys' public school and there was Skye-for whom I am making the dress-or not making the dress at this point. How good is that I shall cut it out and place it with a photograph-when the dress fits:)
Stuart(my youngest son) came around on Saturday with his son Aiden and Aiden made a card for his mum. Children have very definite ideas of what they want to do so it was all his work. He used the Cuttlebug(I think that is his favourite thing to do) a lot-butterflies and flowers and I love you-all very sweet. Hope his Mum liked it.
Annoyed I didn't take a photograph though.
Art is off to the Doctor today-just a check up or for a script I think. I am going to wash the floors then make some cards-it's on the list:)

The sun is back!
Wow the sun is out and Rachel is 21 today-our granddaughter. I am amazed at how quickly they have all grown up and I really want them to slow down now. Our Rachel was born in Japan so everyone calls her Wasabi-cute eh? Anyway I hope she has a great day.
I am going to make some cards today and do some shopping while Art has a nigh nigh after golf.
The girls are having a meeting of the PAA but by the time Art gets home from golf the meeting is almost over, so I don't get a chance to attend. I hope they come to some decisions today.
I am uploading a picture of our beautiful blue sky-so glad to see it after all the rain.
Out my back door!

Back to Class tomorrow!
Well we have had a month off from China painting and I have just washed my brushes-how naughty is that? I don't know why I always leave this job until the last minute - but I do.
Anyway during the break I have attended a workshop run by Fantasia at Bella Vista and run by a German lady called Nathalie Kalbach. She was very good and I will post a photo of my completed canvas. It was all about Glimmer Mists by Tattered Angels. Most informative and now I want to incorporate the ideas on my cards.
have no idea what I do with my time.
Art and I want to go up to Springwood to visit my brother and his wife and here we are in May and we have been thinking about it since Christmas:)
The other thing I have been doing has failed miserably. I made a start on a dress-1850's child's dress-then went to fit it on the little girl last Friday and it is way too small. So disappointed now it is back to the drawing board. This has to be completed by sometime in June-I am hoping it is late June:)
At least I have managed to make appointments for Art and me to go to the dentist, not until the 26th May.
