Cards
I have been making some cards and I really need to get some things right. When i try to place things on the card quite often they become skewed! It is so frustrating. Art has told me I should connect the long side first so I will try that and see how it goes. I love these sweet treat holders from Stampin' Up.
Sunday 29th August
Beautiful weather in Sydney today. Art has hung a new back door and now needs to put the handle and lock back on and it is done. Looks better than the front door now. But we will get to that soon.
We went to the Equestrian Centre on Thursday to check out some Dressage. It was freezing so as there wasn't a lot doing we didn't stay long. We headed left instead of right when we headed home and found ourselves at a lookout at the end of the drive. It was spectacular we could see the Harbour Bridge! Not so impressive in this photo but if you squint you can see the bridge.

Cards
Let me try that again! I have no idea where I went wrong but I lost everything that I typed a short while ago. I think I hit enter??? Anyway here are a few cards which I made a while ago. I am trying to concentrate on Christmas but I have another four birthdays in September so they keep wafting in and out of my head. This first card is one that I cross stitched and I think it is so cute and old worldy. The second one I was experimenting with my Fiskars cut outs and the third one I used some lovely Japanese paper I have had since Art made sets of drawers using Washi paper. So nice that we can get Washi paper here now. The designs are lovely. I found a new Scrapbooking shop yesterday at Prospect. It is called Scraploot. Have a huge range of goods but is no closer to home that Fantasia at Norwest.
There was a really cute little boy there with his Gran and he was preparing to make a gift for a new baby. Gran was worried about the bill I think. He chose some paper which had sculls on and the shop assistant had a time convincing him to choose something a little more appropriate for a baby.

Monday
Monday again. Now that Art has finished the Bible he is making our outdoor chairs safer and then he is going to make me this wonderful contraption for my painting. It is an arm rest so that I can paint with a steady hand-hope it works. Me that is. Sometimes it is very difficult to paint a straight line-that is when Fay(my teacher) says 'do dots' then all we have to do is join them and hopefully you have a straight line. I am hoping this contraption will help me to do straight lines without the dot process. I bought a new die cut for my Cuttlebug machine and hope to get into the Craft room to 'play' with it sometime today. Will check out some sewing stuff too now that the red dress is with Gaye:)

The Bible Second Stage
Girl with the Pearl Earring!
This is my Pearly Girl at present now all I have to do is get in there and finish her:) I am going over and over in my mind as to how to get the right colour of her skin but no answers yet. I have a wonderful book on colour recipes from Helen Van Wyck so I need to consult that. Dop you think I am making excuses?
